Rapid response mailings are a fantastic way to get your message out fast! Often colloquially referred to as “urgent grams”, these mailings may include off-the-shelf materials or quick turn digitally printed content, and take days (instead of weeks!) to mail.
To execute urgent grams effectively you need tested formats from which to choose, lightning fast turn times and an easy process. Whether it be a postcard to drive donors to your website or a simple #10 outer envelope with a letter/reply and a response envelope, these mailings can be produced, out the door and delivered to your donors incredibly fast!
When receiving donations is a matter of extreme urgency, consider a postcard driving donors to your website or asking them to text a donation. Digital postcards are fast to produce, easy to design and they will encourage people to give right away…without waiting for the mail to arrive.
As a supplement to your online donation requests, or to reach digital non-responders, you can send a more traditional mail piece like an Urgent Gram. These include stock materials which usually include a #10 outer envelope, 8.5” x 14” letter/reply and a #9 response envelope (both CRE and BRE options are available.) Typically these can mail within 5 days, depending on mail quantities.
For urgent messaging that does not require such a tight turn time, consider using a faux urgent gram look to your outer envelope. For example, use an “Emergency Response” tagline, so that it appears to be an urgent mail package but was produced in a regular production timeline.
