The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) has responded to the Postal Service’s proposed April 26th CPI rate increase. The PRC has basically found that the Postal Service did not adhere to the rules and regulations set forth for when CPI increases are to be filed. The rates in question effect Periodicals, Standard Mail and Packages. The PRC approved both 1st Class Mail and Competitive Service rates already, so those remain unchanged and could theoretically go live on April 26th.
The USPS must now respond to the PRC ruling with amended rates by March 12thor the April 26th increase date will be postponed; which would also include the delay in the release of the 2015 Postal Promotion Schedule.
