On March 6th, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) issued an order remanding the original Postal Service rate increase proposal. The order required the Postal Service to review, correct and explain certain rate categories for Periodicals, Standard Flats & Letters and Packages by March 12th. Yesterday, March 12th, the Postal Service responded to the PRC’s order by submitting revised rates, explanations and several new adjustments. Since the Postal Service responded by the deadline, the increase is still set to release on April 26th. However, the PRC still needs to review the response and approve the new proposal. Below is a summary of the new rates for Standard Non-profit Letters, which includes new rates with and without the Exigent Increase. (The Federal Court of Appeals has still yet to rule on the Postal Service’s Exigent Surcharge Appeal from 2014).
