This is the third in a blog series exploring postal success strategies for nonprofit organizations.
Every year, the United States Postal Service updates its Postal Promotions and Incentives programs, offering cost-saving opportunities for nonprofit direct mail campaigns. Utilizing these promotions helps manage expenses and maximizes the impact of your budget, enhancing your fundraising efforts.
We’ve highlighted some important updates below, and we offer a deeper dive into the entire program in our Postal Success Checklist White Paper.
While some familiar promotions have changed, new opportunities have emerged. The new Continuous Contact promotion, designed for organizations maintaining regular donor communications, offers a 3% discount for follow-up mailings.
With the Integrated Technology promotion, you’ll now have an opportunity to explore a new way to incorporate Artificial Intelligence into your mail pieces. The most popular way to incorporate a requirement of this promotion into your mail has been adding a QR code; however, this option may likely go away in 2026. This promotion now offers up to a 4% discount.
The Tactical, Sensory & Interactive promotion enrollment is now open, with up to a 4% discount on eligible treatments. A popular option, Gloss stock, no longer qualifies; however, a soft-touch or matte treatment could be a good alternative treatment to consider and submit for consideration.
Lastly, one of the biggest changes is the introduction of add-ons to main promotions in 2025. We’ll cover this new savings opportunity in more depth in our next blog on USPS Promotions and Incentives. You’ll learn how to stack the two new add-ons, Sustainability and Informed Delivery, to the main promotions and how they can enhance your mail’s reach and ROI.
