Over the past 2 years we have been faced with challenges and situations we never saw coming and truly never even thought possible. During this period, I have witnessed the remarkable capacity of the PS staff and those we partner with to recover quickly from difficulties, evolve and grow even stronger for what we have collectively been through. This calls for celebration for all that we have accomplished as a company! As humans, we ALL need to celebrate ourselves and our accomplishments more. At PS, we work hard, and we care deeply about our clients’ success. So, let’s take a moment to celebrate the many reasons WHY we have been so resilient during one of the most difficult times of our lives.
There is no doubt we have evolved further in response to the myriad of unforeseen forces our industry is experiencing. The already traditionally busy holiday production season has been amplified beyond our wildest imaginations by the supply chain crisis, which has forced us to create solutions, pivot, and be incredibly agile every day. From an operational excellence standpoint, Production Solutions shifted our focus from being transformative to being adaptive. To succeed in the business world, and in anything really, the key is no longer about being transformational and innovative. There is constant change surrounding us, and we must continue to prove our outstanding capacity to adapt to these changes.
The lessons we learn from difficulties will guide us into the future successfully, together. Resiliency is the guiding word of our lives right now. It means being an individual, a teammate and a leader who can stay the course, weather the unexpected, adapt quickly to change, and ultimately prevail. It requires a company to operate holistically and cross-functionally. Working on all parts throughout a company at all times is vital to create resilience.
Do you want to know the real secret, though?
The leadership I have witnessed from all levels of our staff is what positions us for a successful future. And further, we are focused on the underlying needs of our leaders/people. We genuinely want our people to be at their best – staff, clients, suppliers, and the industry at-large. A people-first approach to decision-making has been key to unlocking our successful journey as an organization – through good times and tough times, this is what makes us resilient. Witnessing the amount of growth amongst our staff and watching them excel when given the proper support and resources (IT, training and development, coaching, etc.) is one of the things that makes me the proudest about my past 30 years here at PS. When we put our people and their needs first, only good will follow!
Despite what feels like impossible circumstances, we are creating wins each day. Let’s celebrate those wins, the incredible work, the awesome grit, and fierce determination it takes in times like these! So, what will you be celebrating this week? I know for one, I will be celebrating the resiliency within PS and our partners.
