What is Production 101?

Production Solutions – Production 101 is a seminar geared to anyone interested in learning about the making of a typical direct mail package. It is beneficial to someone just starting out in the business and serves as a great refresher for common oversights in the production process. It is also helpful for anyone who is involved with direct mail – strategists, art directors, account directors, you name it.

We start with a high-level overview of paper, ink and printing and then move on to data, personalization and postal. Step by step, we walk through the process of what happens once the art and data are released to the printer and mail house. This information is then tied back to the milestones that need to be met to keep your project on time and on budget.

In addition to showing the steps to get the project in the mail, we help coach you on postal logistics, postal tracking and taking advantage of the USPS promotions. We’ll discuss more about in-home dates for mail, which can directly tie to your organization’s revenues. And as postage rates continue to increase, we can help you learn how to maximize any savings through logistics and participation in USPS postal promotions.

We have two remaining sessions for Production 101 this year – Wednesday, August 14th at 10:00 AM or Wednesday, November 13th at 2:00 PM. These sessions are an hour and a half and are led by PS senior Sourcing Managers who have a combined experience of 50+ years in direct mail.
